Adding Your Domain

To give your shop a more professional look and replace the default address with your own brand, follow the steps below to configure your custom domain:
  1. Log in to your dashboard and navigate to Settings > Domain.
  2. Look for the Link Domain section and enter your desired domain.
⚠️ Choosing your address:
  • Subdomain (e.g., store.yourdomain.com): The recommended and easiest option to configure.
  • Root Domain (e.g., yourdomain.com): If you prefer to use your site directly without a prefix, this is fully supported. Choose your preferred option before proceeding to the next steps.
  1. Click save to generate the required DNS records in the dashboard.

Configuring DNS Records

For your domain to point correctly to our infrastructure, you need to add two records to your DNS zone (via your domain provider, such as Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Hostinger, etc.).
💡 Note: The example below uses Cloudflare, but the process is identical in any other domain manager.

1. Accessing DNS Management

Open your domain provider’s panel and navigate to the DNS tab, then locate the Records section.

2. Creating the CNAME Record (The Pointing)

This record is responsible for directing traffic from your domain to our infrastructure. How you fill in the Name field depends on the address type you chose:
  1. Click Add record.
  2. Select the CNAME type.
  3. In the Name field, enter the following based on your choice:
    • If using a subdomain: Enter only the chosen prefix (e.g., store).
    • If using the root domain (yourdomain.com): Instead of the shop name, enter the @ symbol (or leave the field as your main domain, depending on your provider’s interface).
  4. In the Target / Value field, enter exactly: store.ploudstore.com.
  5. Save your changes.

3. Creating the TXT Record (Ownership Validation)

This record is used solely to prove to our system that you are the true owner of the domain.
  1. Return to your Ploudstore shop dashboard and copy the exact Name and Value generated in the TXT validation section.
  2. In your DNS provider’s panel, click Add record again and select the TXT type.
  3. Paste the copied data into the respective fields (Name and Content/Value) and save.

4. Conclusion and Propagation

After configuring both records, wait for DNS propagation. This can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hours (in the vast majority of cases, it becomes active in less than 10 minutes). Once the process is complete, your domain will be fully operational and protected with an automatic SSL certificate.
